Nanticoke man arrested on child rape charges (citizensvoice.com) — A Nanticoke resident has been jailed without bail after being charged with multiple serious child sex offenses allegedly committed in Exeter over several years. Police say the 41-year-old man was arrested on a warrant and is being held at Luzerne County Correctional Facility, with a preliminary hearing set for June 16.

Top U.S. labor official visits LCCC and touts private sector job growth under Trump (wvia.org) — Nanticoke’s Luzerne County Community College hosted acting U.S. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling, who used the visit to tout private-sector job growth and new Pell Grant aid for short-term training. Instructors from LCCC’s trades programs explained how local students can quickly gain in-demand skills, while federal data showed modest job gains and shifts in the labor force under Trump.

Three men charged with assaulting another man (timesleader.com) — Three men were jailed without bail after Wilkes-Barre police say a man was badly beaten and held inside a Scott Street residence early Wednesday. The suspects were later arraigned by District Judge Donald Whittaker of Nanticoke on assault and related charges and sent to Luzerne County Correctional Facility as alleged flight risks.

Acting U.S. Labor Secretary visits LCCC (citizensvoice.com) — Acting U.S. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling visited Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke to spotlight its skilled-trades programs and ties to local employers.
