SOLEBURY, PA — An e-bike rider remains in serious condition at the Temple University Hospital after being involved in a crash on Tuesday at Route 202 and Aquetong Road.

Police said the bike rider was transported to St. Mary Medical Center and was subsequently airlifted to Temple University Hospital.

The Bucks County District Attorney's Crash Team has been called in to investigate. There have been no conclusions as to the cause or fault, said Chief Kelley Warner.

"We think that motorists just don't expect a bicyclist to operate as fast as they do - e-bikes, that is - and with the popularity of these bikes, I suspect we'll see more crashes," said the chief.

"The lesson for both operators is to be aware of all motorists and, of course, pedestrians. And another reminder is the use of protective gear as a cyclist - helmets and reflective vests to be more noticeable," she said.
