Train Like a Pro at the New D1 Training in Newtown

D1 Training, a leading fitness enrichment concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, recently opened a new location outside of Newtown, PA, in Langhorne at 860 Town Center Drive, Suite 864. The new group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.

Matt and Tracy Kueny will join a roster of impressive existing franchisees, including former professional and collegiate athletes. Additional D1 partners include NBA star Chris Paul and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.

Matt brings more than 20 years of experience as a Junior Olympic softball coach, guiding countless high school athletes to sharpen their skills, reach the next level of competition, and continue playing beyond graduation. He also applies his creativity and business acumen as a freelance marketing and sales consultant. Tracy has spent the past 14 years with Princeton University, where she serves as Senior Financial Manager in the Office of the Dean of the College, overseeing key initiatives for one of the nation’s most respected institutions.

When exploring business opportunities, the couple discovered D1 Training and saw it as the perfect fit. Matt’s extensive coaching background paired with Tracy’s passion for giving back to the community, created a strong foundation for the venture. For them, this new location represents more than a business. In addition to their normal client base, they hope to develop a grant program to help young, underserved athletes in the surrounding areas who might not otherwise afford training.

As parents of two former college athletes, the Kuenys understand firsthand what it takes for youth athletes to extend their athletic journeys beyond high school, making their commitment to D1 Training deeply personal.

“We know firsthand how powerful athletics can be beyond the game itself,” said Matt. “Sports build teamwork, accountability, and responsibility, and those lessons stay with you for life. We’re excited to bring D1 to our community, share those benefits with local families, and give back in a meaningful way.”

D1 Training offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers semi-private and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or fitness goals, regardless of age, or athletic background.

“Matt and Tracy are the ideal candidates to bring the D1 Training experience to Newtown,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Murphy. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to the D1 family and are confident in their ability to show the Newtown area what they’ve been missing out on. D1 is a one-of-a-kind fitness experience that’s built around the individual and meant to help people meet their athletic goals. Our strong network of franchisees embodies our core values to bring the D1 Training vision to life, and we know Matt and Tracy will do just that in Newtown and its surrounding communities.”

Strategically expanding across the nation through franchising, D1 Training has more than 150 facilities open with over 100 additional locations in various stages of development. The brand is currently seeking financially qualified business builders, former athletes, and entrepreneurs, who share a passion for fitness and youth sports, who are ready to make a positive impact on their community.
