RICHBORO, PA —Ashni Kumar and his wife Priya Trivedi, former owners of the beloved Guru's Indian Cuisine in Newtown, will celebrate the grand opening of their new restaurant - Ardas Social Kitchen - on Friday, July 17, with a special pay-what-you-wish vegetarian lunch buffet and full dinner service.

All proceeds from opening day will be donated to provide urgent veterinary care for Ivy, a senior rescue dog currently battling a seizure disorder.

Ardas Social Kitchen is more than a restaurant — it's a mission-driven community gathering place where every meal helps support vulnerable neighbors and rescue animals. Built on the belief that food can bring people together while making a meaningful difference, the restaurant offers authentic Indian cuisine while supporting food access initiatives and animal rescue efforts.

Dinner showcases many of the signature dishes that made Guru's a Bucks County favorite, including Dhaba Chicken: chicken, ginger, garlic, special spice mix; Chicken Ajwain: chicken, carom seed, turmeric; various curries with a choice of protein; Indian street food appetizers; soups; curries; biryanis; tandoori specialties; and vegetarian selections.

Also debuting at Ardas Social Kitchen are Thalis — complete Indian meals served on a compartmentalized tray featuring a vegetarian or non-vegetarian entrée, two side dishes, rice, naan, an appetizer, and dessert.

Thalis will be available for dine-in or takeout, and Priya and Ashni plan to provide complimentary meals to families experiencing hardships. Those in need are encouraged to contact Priya in advance to coordinate their experience.

Giving back has long been central to Priya and Ashni’s mission. In 2022, they founded Guru's Guardian Angels — a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for stray animals. After closing Guru's Indian Cuisine in December 2025 following 11 successful years in business, the couple stepped away to focus on their health and regroup.

"We took some much-needed time to recharge," said Priya. "Six months later, this opportunity came up in Richboro, and we jumped at the chance to serve the Bucks County community again. Ardas Social Kitchen allows us to combine our love of food with our passion for helping both people and animals.”

Located at 800 Bustleton Pike in the Crossroads Plaza Shopping Center in Richboro, Ardas Social Kitchen is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
