Driver Arrested For Suspected DUI, More Scams Reported In Newtown Township (patch.com) — Newtown Township residents are being warned about several recent scam attempts, including fake computer virus alerts, jury duty arrest threats, and online sales fraud that drained a local seller's bank account. Police also responded to a hit-and-run that injured two pedestrians, two suspected DUI incidents, and ongoing fraud and theft investigations affecting nearby Wrightstown and Council Rock's Newtown Middle School.
   

2. Richboro Road Crosswalk Crash: Seven Counts, $150K Bail (lowerbuckstimes.com) — A driver is facing seven charges and $150,000 bail after allegedly striking two women in the Richboro Road crosswalk leading into Tyler State Park at West Hanover Street in Newtown Township. Police say witnesses, dashcam video, and damage to a Hyundai Elantra helped identify the suspect, with a preliminary hearing set for Sept. 10 in district court.
   

3. Newtown Car Show Sept. 26: Free Entry, $20 to Show a Car (lowerbuckstimes.com) — Mark your calendar for the Newtown Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Bucks County Community College off Swamp Road, with free entry for spectators and $20 to show a car. The family-friendly event supports Newtown-based autism nonprofit Potential's Thrive360 kitchen project, and features Star Wars characters, kids' activities, food trucks, trophies, raffles, and door prizes.
   

4. Newtown Police Report Man Defrauded Over Fake Warrant & Two Arrests For Bar Disturbances (newtownpanow.com) — Newtown Borough Police handled 214 calls in July, including two bar-related arrests and several fraud investigations affecting local residents. In one case, a Newtown Borough man sent Bitcoin overseas after a scammer claimed he faced an arrest warrant; officers later confirmed no warrant existed and are warning residents about similar schemes.
