One-Of-A-Kind Black And White Dinner Returning To Newtown In September (patch.com) — North State Street in Newtown will transform into an elegant black-and-white outdoor dining room on Sunday, Sept. 6, as hundreds gather for the 10th annual Newtown Black & White Dinner benefiting the historic Newtown Theatre. Guests are asked to dress in black and white, bring their own meals and décor, enjoy live music, and cap the evening with sparklers and a classic film screening inside the theatre.
   

2. After Tie Vote, Newtown Council Rejects Canopy For New Restaurant (newtownpanow.com) — Newtown Borough Council has rejected a proposed canopy for Donatelli's at the historic Brick Hotel after a tie vote was broken by the mayor, siding with the Historic Architectural Review Board. Supporters argued the canopy would help the new restaurant and improve the site, while opponents said its size would overwhelm the building's historic character and streetscape.
   

3. Newtown Municipal Authority Approves $11.5 Million Sale Of Property To DeLuca Homes (newtownpanow.com) — Newtown's joint municipal authority has approved selling its 17.5-acre Silver Lake Road property to DeLuca Homes for $11.5 million, matching what it paid for the land. The sale follows the cancellation of a controversial wastewater plant and will require Newtown Township zoning changes, potentially shaping future housing and infrastructure near Core Creek Park and surrounding townships.
   

4. Man Charged After Two Pedestrians Struck In Newtown Twp. Hit-&-Run (newtownpanow.com) — Two women were seriously injured when a driver allegedly struck them in a crosswalk near Tyler State Park in Newtown Township and then left the scene. Police used witness statements and video to identify a Levittown man, who was later arrested and now faces multiple charges, while both victims were treated at St. Mary Medical Center for their injuries.
   

5. Marshal Chaifetz (montclair.edu) — Newtown gets a brief mention in the career of grants manager Marshal Chaifetz, who once worked for the Law School Admission Council based in Newtown.
