Spine-Chilling October Awaits At The Historic Newtown Theatre

Halloween season brings classic monster movies and more to the big screen in Newtown.

NEWTOWN, PA – The historic (and haunted) Newtown Theatre is bringing a variety of classic films back to the big screen for the Halloween season. The movie lineup includes:

  • “A Ghostbusters Family Movie Experience” on Sunday, October 4 – part of the theatre’s 2026 Family Series. Doors will open at 2 p.m. and in the hour leading up to the 3 screening of 1984’s “Ghostbusters” guests will enjoy a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, free popcorn, a “build a ghost” craft station, free Ecto drinks, Rice Krispie treats, and paranormal investigator stickers for every child, a “slime the ghost” station, and other fun surprises.
  • “Frankenstein” (1931) on Tuesday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m. – part of the theatre’s Cult Vault series sponsored by Attleboro Wealth Management. Dr. Henry Frankenstein assembles a body from stolen parts and brings it to life in a horrifying experiment. Frankenstein (Boris Karloff) is misunderstood and feared by those around him and soon becomes a tragic force of destruction.
  • “The Invisible Man” (1933) on Tuesday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m. – part of the theatre’s Cult Vault series sponsored by Attleboro Wealth Management. A mysterious scientist discovers a way to make himself invisible, but the effects of his experiment begin to unravel his sanity and his humanity.
  • “Creature from the Black Lagoon” (1954) on Tuesday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. – part of the theatre’s Cult Vault series sponsored by Attleboro Wealth Management. A scientific expedition into the Amazon jungle discovers a strange fossil that points to the existence of a mysterious amphibious creature. When the creature emerges from the depths, a terrifying struggle begins between the explorers and the legendary Gill-man.
  • “Dracula” (1931) on Tuesday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. – part of the theatre’s Cult Vault series sponsored by Attleboro Wealth Management. The sinister Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi) leaves his Transylvanian castle and travels to England, where he begins preying on the unsuspecting inhabitants of London.
  • “Young Frankenstein” (1974) on Friday, October 30 at 7 p.m. – part of the theatre’s “Movies & More!” series. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and in the hour leading up to the 8 p.m. screening of the movie guests will enjoy movie trivia, drink specials, a violinist on the front porch, a “Puttin' on the Ritz” dance-off, and other fun surprises.

Tickets for each movie are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com or at the theatre’s box office starting 30 minutes before showtime (if available). Beer, wine, and canned cocktails will be available for purchase at the theatre before each movie.
