"Storybook Holiday Magic" The Theme Of This Year's Newtown Holiday Parade

NEWTOWN, PA — The annual Newtown Business Association's Holiday Parade, presented by the Newtown Athletic Club (NAC), returns to the streets of Newtown on Sunday, Dec. 6.

This year’s theme, "Storybook Holiday Magic," promises to bring classic holiday tales to life through festive floats, musical performances and community groups.

“The NBA Holiday Parade is one of Newtown’s most cherished traditions, dating back to 2005,” said Dana Slipp on behalf of parade committee members. “We look forward to bringing our local businesses, nonprofits and residents together to celebrate the holiday season with this year’s storybook inspired theme."

As the parade continues to grow, organizers have adjusted the route this year to accommodate more participants and spectators. The updated route provides additional viewing space while also allowing for a larger pre-parade staging area.

The parade is scheduled to step off at 12:30 p.m. at the Newtown Business Commons. It will then march west along Washington Avenue to Sycamore Street. At Sycamore Street, the parade will turn right and march north on Sycamore to Durham Road where it will conclude.

"Our goal is to create an even better experience for everyone who comes out to celebrate with us," said Slipp. "We encourage everyone to refer to the parade map for the updated route, staging area, Santa’s Village and Quiet Viewing Zone.”

1Festivities begin early at 11 a.m. with the opening of Santa’s Village, offering family friendly fun ahead of the official parade start at 12:30 p.m. Santa’s Village will be located in the Fred Beans Ford parking lot on Sycamore Street, giving families an opportunity to enjoy holiday activities before the parade begins.
