Upper Makefield To Mark Nation's Birthday With Open House, Time Capsule

Residents are invited to bring a photo, letter, drawing, newspaper clipping, or small piece of memorabilia to include in the capsule.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Upper Makefield will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary on Saturday, June 20, during an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the township building, 1076 Eagle Road, Newtown.

The open house-style event will include historic displays, hands-on crafts, refreshments, and a special Upper Makefield time capsule project.

"Stop by and be a part of history while celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary by leaving a message for the future in Upper Makefield’s Community Time Capsule," said event organizers.

Residents are encouraged to bring something like a photo, letter, drawing, newspaper clipping, or small piece of memorabilia to include in the time capsule.

Residents are also invited to create their own time capsule to take home.
