Ambler Savings Bank Recognizes Community Organizations Through “Day of Giving”

East Norriton, PA – Just two days after the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of its new East Norriton branch, Ambler Savings Bank recognized eight local organizations making a difference through a “Day of Giving” on Friday, September 25. The event was held at the new branch location (2905 Whitehall Road, East Norriton) to recognize notable non-profit organizations for the positive impact their missions have had on the community.

Bank representatives presented $1,500 checks to five local organizations: Genesis Housing Corporation, Norristown Hospitality Center, Norristown Area Education Foundation, Plymouth Community Ambulance Association and Norriton Fire Company.

Greener Partners, Laurel House, and Expressive Path were acknowledged for significant donations they received earlier in the year: $5,000, $2,500, and $8,000, respectively.

Ambler Savings Bank’s “Day of Giving” focuses on four key pillars that guide its giving: Education & youth development; affordable housing; hunger and poverty; and social services and community development.

“These organizations are our neighbors. We live here; we work here, and we are committed to giving back to the local community that’s given so much to us. That is what we believe, and that is why we donate,” said Ambler Savings Bank President and CEO, Roger Zacharia.

The event included a brief introduction to each organization and how it has contributed to the local community. After check presentations, attendees enjoyed a light breakfast and have the opportunity to network and socialize.

About Donation Recipients

Ambler Savings Bank selected these organizations for their vital roles in the community.

Genesis Housing Corporation: $1,500 – Genesis Housing Corporation helps individuals find and maintain affordable housing. The organization also provides housing counseling and financial education.

Norristown Hospitality Center: $1,500 – Norristown Hospitality Center provides meals and other basic necessities to the homeless population and others in need throughout the community.

Norristown Area Education Foundation: $1,500 – Norristown Area Education Foundation provides funding for educational programs and opportunities that exceed the school district’s existing budget.

Plymouth Community Ambulance Association: $1,500 – Plymouth Ambulance provides emergency medical services to residents in Plymouth Township and the surrounding areas.

Norriton Fire Engine Company: $1,500 – Norriton Fire Company is a 100% volunteer organization providing fire suppression and emergency services to East Norriton Township and surrounding communities.

Greener Partners: $5,000* – Greener Partners connects local residents with fresh food and educational programs focused on food and farming.

Laurel House: $2,500* – Laurel House supports individuals and families affected by domestic violence. Services include shelter, counseling, and more.

Expressive Path: $8,000* – Expressive Path provides arts programs for middle and high school students. Students can participate in programs involving music, theater, and more.
