The 8th Annual Pitching for Unity Softball Fundraiser is here!
This year, the George Washington Carver Community Center (GWCCC) and the Norristown Recreation Center are joining forces to make this year&rsquo;s event bigger, more exciting, and more impactful than ever! Huge thank you to Bri'Ana Hawkins, Norristown Rec Director for supporting this fundraiser&nbsp;
Collaboration makes our community stronger&mdash;and it makes this event more exciting, fun, and enjoyable for everyone!
Pitching for Unity is more than just a softball game. It brings together mixed teams made up of members of the Norristown Police Department, school representatives and administrators, community leaders, families, and youth. Together, we demonstrate to our young people that when we work together, build relationships, and support one another, we can create positive experiences and stronger communities.
This event helps build relationships, trust, teamwork, and UNITY!

Horsham, PA - Sunday, August 23; 12:00 – 8:00 PM.The Ukrainian Folk Festival &amp; Summer Concert 2026 will be held at the Ukrainian American Sport Center (<a href="https://www.tryzub.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">www.tryzub.org</a>), County Line and Lower State Roads, Horsham, PA. 
Exciting, spectacular, dazzling, breathtaking, exhilarating, spirited, soulful, enchanting, captivating, and intriguing – modest words which describe but by no means capture the essence of Ukrainian folk art, music, song and dance.From the rich color and deep symbolism of the delicate “pysanka” (Ukrainian Easter Egg) to the thunderous, power, rhythm and strength of “HOPAK” – the world’s most exciting ethnic dance, and every brilliant “Kolomiyka” (polka) and soulful folk song in between, experience the UKRAINIAN FOLK FESTIVAL 2026, celebrating the 35th anniversary of our ancestral homeland’s independence. Enjoy an outdoor summer stage concert and show (1:30 to 4:30 PM), live orchestra music (4:30 – 8:00 PM), traditional Ukrainian foods and baked goods, BBQ pit, standard picnic fare, vendors grove, arts and crafts displays and bazaar, cool adult and soft refreshments, Live exhibitors of Ukrainian history and Ukrainian hospitality.
