Teen Charged In Triple Shooting In Norristown: DA

NORRISTOWN, PA — An 18-year-old Pottstown resident has been charged in the recent triple shooting in Norristown, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.

Rashaad Oliver, 18, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and aggravated assault.

The incident occurred on Aug. 1 at around 5 p.m. at a home on 126 East Chestnut Street.

Oliver and another man, Zion Kennedy, of Norristown, became involved in a physical altercation with a man standing outside the home, officials said.

In videos that police recovered, they said that Oliver can be seen punching a man, who punched Oliver back in the mouth, breaking his teeth, according to officials.

Oliver then pulled out a gun and fired three shots, police said. One of the shots hit a man outside, while two of the victims were sitting inside. A 17-year-old female was shot in the left thigh, a 19-year-old male was shot in the left leg, and a 25-year-old man was shot in the left leg, police said.

All three were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Oliver and Kennedy fled the scene and were arrested on unrelated charges in Atlantic City by New Jersey State Police on Aug. 4.

Bail for Oliver was set at $1 million, which he failed to post, and he was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 26.
