North Wales: Talks to continue on regional fire study (thereporteronline.com) — North Wales officials are weighing whether to join a regional fire department after a state study outlined potential benefits like faster response times, better staffing, and possible insurance savings. A borough public safety committee will soon review the findings and report back to council, with the next council meeting set for June 23 at the municipal building on School Street.

Man poses as someone else to pick up package with $36K worth of silver: Police (nbcphiladelphia.com) — Police say a man fraudulently picked up a $36,000 silver shipment from a FedEx store in North Wales after allegedly posing as the rightful recipient. Central Bucks Regional Police are seeking tips to identify the bearded suspect, last seen in a gray hoodie and shorts, and are asking anyone with information to contact Corporal David Interrante.

3. North Wales welcomes new police officer (thereporteronline.com) — North Wales has sworn in a new police officer, Ryan Varela, filling a vacancy created by a recent retirement on the small borough force. Varela brings Army service, local roots, and police academy training, and was welcomed by Mayor Neil McDevitt, Chief Dave Erenius, and borough council during Tuesday night’s meeting.

4. Gen Z gains key civic experience as Chester County government interns (delcotimes.com) — Chester County’s summer internship program is giving more than 30 Gen Z students hands-on experience in local government, including North Wales resident Ethan Wei of Upper Gwynedd Township. Wei, interning with Commissioner Josh Maxwell, says the work shows how officials balance competing constituent interests and demonstrates government’s unique accountability as the nation approaches its 250th birthday.
