• Man involved in thefts shot Thursday (tiogapublishing.com) — A 34-year-old man from Old Forge, wanted in connection with several New York robberies, was shot and killed by state police near Mansfield University after advancing on officers with a pocketknife, investigators say. The pursuit began Wednesday night, led to a crash on Route 549, and caused temporary road closures while police searched the area and continue their investigation.
