• Council makes unexpected vote on data centers (2822news.com) — Olyphant council has scrapped a long-planned zoning amendment on data centers and instead declared the borough’s zoning ordinance invalid to pursue a “curative amendment,” giving officials six months to rewrite the rules. Residents packed the meeting with concerns about health, welfare, and benefits of potential data centers in Olyphant and the Mid-Valley, while some council members worried the temporary move could leave the borough exposed to proposals. 
• Lackawanna County Court Notes, April 16, 2026 (thetimes-tribune.com) — Olyphant homeowners may notice a notable real estate deal, with a property at 317 Willow Avenue selling for $250,000 among several Lackawanna County transactions.
