
Our final Emerging Artists Series concert of the season features the acclaimed Peruvian pianist Priscila Navarro performing “Airs and Songs of Spring” by Bach, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Albéniz, and Gershwin.Described as a “phenomenal talent” by the Atlanta Audio Club, Priscila was the first prize winner in the Liszt-Garrison International Piano Competition, Beethoven Piano Sonata Competition, and International Chopin Competition of Texas, among others. She also won the Bach Prize at the City of Vigo International Piano Competition in Spain, where she was one of five finalists out of over 400 participants, with a jury presided by Martha Argerich; the Christa Bach-Marschall Foundation prize at the 2022 Leipzig Bach Competition; and the 2023 Astral Artists National Auditions.
Priscila earned a doctorate in piano performance and pedagogy as well as a masters and artist diploma from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, graduated summa cum laude from Florida Gulf Coast University, and is now on the faculty at the prestigious piano department of the University of Kansas in 2024.
