Across Chester County, prices dipped from June but remain higher than a year ago, with homes still selling quickly and often above list price despite tighter affordability for many buyers.
   

• Open Hearth Offers Free Financial Workshops Online This Fall (mychesco.com) — Phoenixville-based nonprofit Open Hearth Inc. is offering residents free, live online financial workshops this fall, covering everything from budgeting and credit to buying a car, paying for college, and purchasing a first home. The 11-week series runs Wednesday evenings from Sept. 2 through Nov. 11 via Microsoft Teams, and you can register for individual sessions or the full program at no cost.
   

• Sturtevant, Matey, and Buono Named Women's Lacrosse Team Captains (bluehens.com subscription) — A Phoenixville native, defender Mary Matey, has been named one of three captains for the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team after a standout 2026 season anchoring their top-ranked defense. She and her fellow captains will lead the Blue Hens into 2027 following a historic 13-5 campaign and an undefeated ASUN regular season title.
