FBI Accuses Pittsburgh-Area Man Of Plotting Terrorist Attack

PITTSBURGH, PA — FBI agents have arrested a Butler County man on a terrorism-related charge after he allegedly obtained a firearm and ammunition that investigators say he intended to use in an attack in support of ISIS.

According to court documents, Jonathan Hunter Kramer, 20, of Valencia, has been charged with receipt or transfer of a firearm or ammunition knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such firearm or ammunition will be used to commit a felony or a federal crime of terrorism

In a 30-page criminal complaint, the FBI said Kramer's online posts, combined with his activity on Saturday, established probable cause for the federal charge. Kramer was arrested that day outside of a hotel in Cranberry where he had paid $450 in cash to stay for a week.

FBI agents who searched Kramer's hotel room and house said they found a semi-automatic rifle, loaded rifle magazines, a rifle scope, boxes of ammunition, 30 knives and a note.

The note instructed people not to look for him. "I cant live in constant Fear," it stated.

The FBI said it also found social media posts that led investigators to believe Kramer was planning an attack on behalf of ISIS.

Federal authorities are expected to hold a news conference this morning to further discuss the case.
