Man Shocked By Electric Power Line In Pittsburgh: Latest Info

A man had to be rescued after being shocked by an electric power line in Pittsburgh. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh police, fire and EMS on Thursday rescued a man dangling from a scaffolding structure outside of an apartment building in Brookline.

First responders were dispatched just before 2 p.m. to the building at the intersection of Castegate and Woodbourne avenues.

Arriving units learned that the unidentified man in his 50s stood up on the scaffolding while working and brushed his head against high-tension wires above him.

Crews were able to secure the man using a rope system and bring him to safety to through an open apartment window.

He was then evaluated by the EMS physician on scene before being transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition with second degree burns to the top of his head.

The man was alert, conscious and talking during transport to the hospital, authorities said.
