Penguins Open 2026-27 Season With New PPG Paints Arena Food Options

PITTSBURGH, PA — It's called the Penguinator and it looks massive.

The sandwich contains turkey, roast beef, ham, provolone, cheddar, pierogies, mozzarella sticks, waffle fries, lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic ranch, herb Italian bread.

The Penguinator and many other new items will be available at PPG Paints Arena for the 2026-27 hockey season that kicks off Wednesday as the Penguins travel to Philadelphia to play Flyers.

Aramark Sports + Entertainment on Tuesday announced new enhancements to the fan experience across its seven arena partner venues focusing on local customization and premium offerings, designed to reflect the team and city that its fans call home.

“No two venues, or fan bases, are exactly alike, and the experience shouldn’t be either”, said Aramark CEO Alison Birdwell. "Our approach is to combine the scale and expertise of Aramark's hospitality platform with experiences that reflect the culture, energy, and identity of each market."

What does that mean in Pittsburgh?

A new insta-grill featuring a rotating menu inspired by current culinary trends, along with new retail offerings connecting fans to Penguins history with exclusive merchandise celebrating the franchise’s 60^th anniversary, the 10-year anniversary of the 2017 Stanley Cup championship team, and the 2026 Penguins Hall of Fame class.

Now back to the food. Here's what to expect:

Introducing the Meatball Cone: Italian meatballs, house marinara, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan crusted bread cone, grated Parmesan. Also available is rispy fried Parmesan ravioli: Parmesan coated ravioli stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella and Asiago cheese, served with house marinara,

In addition to the Ultimate Penguinator, there will be an Uncrustable Monte Cristo sandwich featuring tavern ham, smoked turkey and Swiss cheese served on funnel cake battered strawberry Uncrustables with powdered sugar.

There also will be a gluten free rustic turkey sandwich featuring shaved smoked turkey, aged cheddar, mixed greens, roasted tomatoes, cool ranch aioli on gluten free multigrain bread.

At Da' Burgh Cantina, expect loaded steak nachos.

At Insta Grill (Section 119), you'll find beef birria tacos: Jalisco-style braised beef. Dippy's will offer a strawberry Dubai chocolate pretzel cups.

Suite menu highlights include a Mediterranean Mezze grazing table: grilled chicken breast, cucumbers, diced tomatoes, feta cheese, Kalamata olives, pita, red onion, romaine lettuce, white rice, and tzatziki sauce. Also expect a Santa Fe veggie bowl in which you'll find cilantro lime rice, black beans, fire roasted corn, peppers and onions, cremini mushrooms, pico de gallo, avocado, pepper jack cheese, chipotle cream, and tortilla strips.
