Pittsburgh Restaurant Tagged With Consumer Alert

PITTSBURGH, PA — For the second time in three months, the Allegheny County Health Department has hit a Pittsburgh restaurant with a consumer alert.

The alert was issued for Caribbean Fusion Village on Cable Place in Oakland. An inspection on Wednesday turned up a trio of health code violations at the eatery.

A high-risk violation involved food being held at improper temperatures.

Inspectors found that macaroni and cheese, jerk chicken, collard greens and multiple Ziplock baggies of chicken and pans of chicken all had temperatures between 49 and 60 degrees.

According to health code regulations, food must be held at a temperature of 41 degrees or below.

The unsafe food was discarded.

Other violations inspectors found were multiple pans of chicken that were undated and a cooler with an ambient temperature of 55 degrees.

According to inspectors, three coolers need for be service and/or repaired for the alert to be lifted.

During the May inspection, two decomposed rodents were found. Additionally, droppings were found on the floor along walls in the restroom and on shelving that holds shortening.
