Pittsburgh Restaurants Roll Out Mother’s Day Brunches, Bakery Bouquets, Rooftop Sips
From Downtown to Regent Square, Pittsburgh businesses are promoting brunch, cocktails and take-home sweets for Mother's Day.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh restaurants and a bakery are promoting Mother’s Day specials across Downtown, East Liberty, Regent Square, Mt. Lebanon and other neighborhoods, with brunch menus, cocktails, desserts and rooftop service planned for the holiday weekend and Sunday, May 10. Several businesses also note that reservations are recommended or required.
Downtown, The Commoner said it is preparing its Mother’s Day brunch with “a bountiful Flower Bar presented by Dormont Florist” where children can pick a flower for Mom. Along with its regular brunch menu, the restaurant listed items including Spring Frittata, Pork Belly Katsu and the Mango Sticky Bun. The Commoner also promoted drinks including “Mimosas for a Bunch” and the “Spring Fling.”
In Regent Square, Confections is offering Mother’s Day cupcake bouquets made with six cupcakes topped with colorful buttercream. The bakery cafe, recently opened by pastry chef Casey Renee, also serves scones, garlic cheddar biscuits, vegan blueberry muffins and French macarons, according to the announcement. Vegan cupcake bouquet varieties are available.

Square Cafe in East Liberty said it will serve brunch and lunch all Mother’s Day weekend, including holiday specials. The cafe highlighted dishes from its benedict section, vegan and gluten-free options, and sweeter brunch picks such as Bananas Foster Waffle and Lemon-Berry Ricotta Pancakes. Square Cafe also said guests can order holiday drink specials and should check its Instagram for details.
Khalil’s said sister-owners Dalel and Leila Khalil will host a Mediterranean brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mother’s Day. The restaurant said the service will include a three-course prix fixe menu, a la carte options and craft cocktails, with dishes such as Shakshuka, Yalla Habibi Waffle, Mediterranean Cheese Omelet and Greek Breakfast. Reservations are required through the restaurant website or by email, and outdoor seating will be available weather permitting.

Other Pittsburgh restaurants are also advertising holiday menus. Ritual House in Downtown said its brunch will include items such as Crab Benedict, Avocado Toast, Breakfast Shrimp & Grits and Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes, along with a special “Thanks Mom” cocktail. East Liberty’s Palm Palm promoted dishes including Croque Madame, Bagel & Lox, Tres Leches Pancakes and Smoked Salmon Benedict.
In Mt. Lebanon, F&F Pizzeria said guests can order pizzas, pasta, salads and spritzes for Mother’s Day, with reservations available on OpenTable and walk-ins welcome. The Biergarten at Hotel Monaco said its rooftop space will be open Sundays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting, with light bites, beers and cocktails available on the ninth floor above William Penn Place.
Across the city, the promotions point to a busy Mother’s Day weekend for diners planning ahead, especially at spots where reservations are recommended or required.
