Popular Pittsburgh Restaurant's Future Uncertain After Devastating Fire

PITTSBURGH, PA — A weekend fire heavily damaged a popular Pittsburgh restaurant, leaving its future currently up in the air.

The fire occurred early Saturday morning at Fujiya Ramen on South Aiken Avenue on South Aiken Avenue in Shadyside. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze remains unclear.

On Monday, the restaurant posted photos on social media showing the fire's extensive impact. The bar area is covered with debris, the ceiling is damaged and the kitchen is in ruins.

Accompanying the photos was this message:

"While we are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe, our restaurant has suffered significant damage and will be closed until further notice," the post stated.

"For many years, Fujia has been more than just a ramen shop - it has been a place where friends and families gather, celebrate and create memories. Seeing our restaurant in this condition is heartbreaking.

"Our hope is to rebuild and welcome everyone back to Shadyside, but first we need to work through the insurance process, fully assess the damage and determine the best path forward. We will continue to share updates as we learn more."

While the restaurant is closed, patrons are advised to visit Fujia's other location in North Fayette.
