"After much thought and a whole lot of prayer, I’ve decided to take this intentional next step forward and dedicate more time to her, so I can savor these early days. I don’t want to blink and miss the moments that are already going by so fast. "

"I’m excited to, for the first time in a long time, have holidays off, to be home for dinner, to have time to travel the world as a family. I plan to cherish the big and small moments I now get to be fully present for.

"I’m also excited to have the freedom to be creative in new ways, share more of life as it unfolds, and say yes to opportunities that feel meaningful in this season."

Powers co-anchored WTAE's 11 p.m. newscast.

According to the station's website, Powers joined WTAE from ABC 7 in Washington, D.C. Among the stories she covered were the aftermate of the January 6th riots and the 2021 presidential inauguration.

A Milwaukee native, Powers holds a master’s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
