Experience an Old Fashioned Coffee House event featuring musical guests and engaging table discussions in a warm, community setting. This free gathering also includes refreshments for all attendees to enjoy.
All are welcome to this free event at Brandywine Summit Camp Meeting Association, 119 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford (across from Penns Winery), Friday, July 10th at 7pm.
500 years, Coffee Houses have been a place where common folk gather and discuss important issues of their day. This Friday, July 10th, Brandywine Summit Camp Meeting invites you to share refreshments and reflections while exploring two hymn texts: “All Creatures of Our God and King,” by St. Francis of Assisi and “This is my Father’s World” by Maltry Babcock (1901).
Calling us to find sacred ground, even as we gather at 119 Beaver Valley Road, the authors of this poetry are now part of “the church above.” We who gather as the church below in Johnson’s Wood at Beaver Valley join in their song! The passage of time vindicates the truth of their texts, leaving as a legacy for our day and age. “Saints” of old rest our case before the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The reality of who we are here, as the body of Christ, transcends the limitations of time and space, for God’s providence is their gift to us.
BSCM Coffee Houses always provide refreshment for our bodies and our souls, so please join us at 7 pm in air-conditioned Biddle Hall to discover 8 observations and 7 obligations for our generation in Light of their vision of the Church above and the Church below.
