• Pentagon Adds $154M to Lockheed Contract for 11 F-35 Fighters (clearancejobs.com) — Renovo is set to see major federal construction work: a $17 million Army Corps of Engineers project will build a reinforced concrete rock anchor wall along the Kettle Creek emergency spillway near State Route 4001, with completion expected in 2029. The same Pentagon contract roundup also details large military and infrastructure awards nationwide, but this spillway project is the one poised to directly affect local safety and jobs.
   

• Local authors release true crime book, ‘Fallen Star (lockhaven.com) — A new true-crime memoir tied to Renovo explores how a trusted friend became the focus of a homicide case and a 22-year prison sentence. Local authors Donna M. Kshir and Lee Cougardawn Roberts blend memoir and investigative detail to examine trauma, addiction, and the ripple effects of violence on families and communities, while also highlighting creative contributions from Kshir’s grandson.
   

• Bucktail High School group works to get PA to change its state fossil to the one found in Red Hill (wpsu.org) — Students connected to Bucktail Area High School, with help from Renovo native and county official Beth Whitty, are pushing to make the Hynerpeton bassetti Pennsylvania’s new state fossil. They’ve lobbied legislators, created educational materials, and already helped win unanimous support in the state Senate. Now they’re watching to see if the state House will act before America’s 250th birthday.
