• Saxonburg Carnival planned with parades, water battle June 23-27 (butlereagle.com) — Saxonburg’s Volunteer Fire Company is gearing up for its June 23–27 carnival, a free-admission fundraiser with parades, a water battle, car show, rides, and food centered at the Horne Avenue fire hall and along Main Street. Organizers stress the event’s importance in covering rising equipment costs, from multimillion-dollar ladder trucks to pricey radios and gear, and are counting on strong community turnout.
