More than a dozen bumpy roads set for smooth transformation with $2.5M paving project in Scranton (wnep.com) — Scranton is moving ahead with a $2.5 million paving project that will resurface more than a dozen rough streets, many on the city’s west side. Funded by state gas and fuel taxes, the 2026 work aims to permanently fix pothole-riddled blocks neighbors say have damaged cars and turned short drives into obstacle courses.

Johnson College's annual Carpentry Auction raises over $4,000 for CAC (thetimes-tribune.com) — Johnson College students at the Scranton campus recently raised more than $4,000 for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania through their annual Carpentry Auction. More than 60 student-made pieces, many from repurposed materials, drew bidders while showcasing local talent and supporting services for children facing abuse and neglect.

HS ROUNDUP: Beck, Horutz lead Abington Heights to boys volleyball win (thetimes-tribune.com) — Scranton high school teams had a tough night, with Abington Heights sweeping Scranton in both boys volleyball and boys tennis while also rolling in girls lacrosse. The roundup also highlights other Lackawanna League and Wyoming Valley Conference results that Scranton fans follow closely, including Crestwood, Valley View, and Scranton Prep matchups.
