Conemaugh Township's Colin Dinyar repeats as Somerset County MVP (centredaily.com) — Somerset County baseball fans have plenty to cheer about as Conemaugh Township senior Colin Dinyar has repeated as the county’s most valuable player after a dominant season at the plate and on the mound. Dozens of players from Berlin Brothersvalley, Meyersdale, Rockwood, Shanksville-Shade, Windber, North Star, and Turkeyfoot Valley also earned first team, second team, or honorable mention recognition.

DOJ: Rockwood man facing federal charges for allegedly shooting at US Marshals (wjactv.com) — Federal prosecutors say a Somerset County man from Rockwood is facing charges including attempted murder of federal officers after an April standoff where he allegedly fired at U.S. Marshals in Upper Turkeyfoot Township. Authorities report he eventually surrendered and, as a convicted felon barred from possessing guns, could face up to life in prison and a substantial fine if convicted.
