University police say the pilot is tightly controlled and time-limited, while privacy advocates warn the growing camera network can quietly track everyday drivers’ movements.

2. 2 more Centre County townships take steps to prepare for possible data centers (centredaily.com) — Ferguson Township is considering zoning changes to regulate potential data centers, after residents from the township and State College raised concerns about noise, pollution, and impacts on nearby neighborhoods. Rush Township is also drafting its own rules, following College Township’s earlier move, as Centre County communities try to get ahead of any large-scale data center proposals.

GIANT and MARTIN'S Feeding School Kids Initiative Raises $1.2 Million to Fight Food Insecurity in Local Schools (perishablenews.com) — State College Area School District is receiving $19,249 from GIANT’s Feeding School Kids initiative to support student meal programs and fight food insecurity. The money comes from customer donations and a company contribution, with funds targeted based on student need. Districts often use this support for weekend food backpacks, clearing lunch debt, and building school food pantries.
