Big Laughs, Bigger Ambition: “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” Comes to Wallingford

Get ready to climb the corporate ladder the easy way- no experience needed! Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra presents the satirical musical comedy, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, April 18- April 26 at Strath Haven Middle School. The show has music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert, and is based on the 1952 satirical guide to climbing the corporate ladder by Shepherd Mead. This musical is directed by Chris Fitting with music direction and conducting by Florrie Marks.

Follow the ambitious and charming J. Pierrepont Finch as he rises from a window washer to a high-powered executive using nothing but luck, charm, and his handy how-to book. Finch’s journey is made even more entertaining by a cast of colorful characters, including the company president, J. B. Bigley, whose larger than life personality keeps the office on their toes, the kind-hearted and eager to marry secretary, Rosemary, and the hilariously overconfident Bud Frump. Each of these characters brings their own charm and comedic flair to the chaos of corporate life.All performances are at Strath Haven Middle School, 200 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086, and include two shows on Saturdays, April 18 and April 25 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, April 19 and April 26 at 2 p.m.; and Wednesday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are general admission and good for any performance. Historic Yellow Springs Inc

The 53rd Annual Yellow Springs Art Show returns April 25–May 10 at Historic Yellow Springs, continuing one of Chester County’s most cherished spring traditions. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm with free admission, this juried exhibition features 210 artists and over 4,000 original works for sale, filling the galleries of the Lincoln Building with an inspiring variety of paintings, sculpture, and fine craft. Visitors of all ages are welcome, and families can enjoy the popular Art Quest scavenger hunt, making the Art Show a perfect seasonal outing.
As Historic Yellow Springs’ largest annual fundraiser, the Art Show helps support the organization’s mission to preserve and celebrate the unique living village of Yellow Springs through history, arts, education, and environmental stewardship. 
The event concludes on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, with the Art Around the Village Community Event, a free celebration from 10 am to 2 pm featuring artist demonstrations, creative activities, village tours, games, food truck and more!

53rd Annual Yellow Springs Art Show - April 25 - May 10

Bring your family and friends to the Purcellville Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, April 25 from noon to 7 p.m. rain or shine. This free, family-friendly event will be held at Fireman’s Field Park and inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink at 250 South Nursery Avenue.

Enjoy a full day of live music and performances across multiple stages, along with an art exhibit, games, chalk art, and a variety of interactive activities. Browse offerings from local vendors featuring handcrafted goods, food, beverages, and more. There will be fun for all ages, including face painting, glitter tattoos, sidewalk chalk art, and t-shirt or tote bag decorating. Local non-profits will also be on-site sharing information and resources. Special activities will highlight and celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. 
Inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink—transformed into the Art Hall—you’ll find more than 30 works of art, live performances, art demonstrations, and hands-on activities including quilt square decorating and an Instrument Petting Zoo. Be sure to pick up a festival scavenger hunt booklet and complete it for a chance to win a prize!
