• Suspect in custody after attempting to sexually assault woman on Westmoreland Heritage Trail (cbsnews.com) — A man is facing multiple serious charges after an attempted sexual assault on the Westmoreland Heritage Trail near Murrysville, and he told police his day began with an argument in Trafford before walking toward Jeannette. The victim fought him off and got help from passing bicyclists, and officers later arrested a suspect matching the description in nearby woods. He remains charged with several assault and theft offenses. 
• Police: Suspect taken into custody two years after double shooting (wtae.com) — A homicide suspect wanted for a 2024 double shooting in Braddock was arrested Wednesday evening at a home on West Inwood Road in Trafford, Westmoreland County. SWAT officers took the 20-year-old into custody and recovered a firearm and ammunition, ending more than two years on the run. He is now in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.
