The move follows teen-related disturbances at parks nationwide and is backed by West Mifflin’s mayor, who cites safety and security concerns while the park aims to preserve a family-friendly atmosphere.

• Gov. Shapiro has signed 14 bills into law in 2026 (glensidelocal.com) — One of Gov. Josh Shapiro’s newly signed laws affects land once owned by the Borough of West Mifflin, trading old Project 70 restrictions for new ones on different borough property. The rest of the 14 bills deal with statewide issues like schools, medical licensing, construction codes, and bar hours during major 2026 celebrations.
