OXFORD, PA — Oxford Area High School reopened for classes on Monday after a measles case was confirmed in the school community last week.
During the closure and over the weekend, school officials worked to verify the immunity of teachers and staff, as required by the Chester County Health Department.
"The health and safety of our students and staff must remain a priority, and I appreciate the work of our district employees and the Chester County Health Department as they work together to address this situation and provide guidance," Oxford Area Board of School Directors member Andrew Atkinson said. "I encourage our community to stay informed through official district and public health communications and to be mindful that not all information shared on social media is accurate."
