1. 6 Sentenced To Prison In Killing Of Young Football Star In Chester Co.: DA (patch.com) — West Chester readers are learning that six men have received lengthy prison sentences in Chester County after a botched retaliatory shooting left 20-year-old Coatesville football standout Dametirus McClain-Jackson dead. Prosecutors say the group drove through Coatesville in a stolen car hunting a rival, opened fire on Community Lane, and ultimately caused McClain-Jackson's fatal shooting during the chaos.

Measles Case Count Rises To 56 In Chester County (patch.com) — Residents in and around West Chester are being warned as Chester County's measles outbreak grows to 56 confirmed cases, the highest in Pennsylvania outside Lancaster and Mifflin counties. Health officials urge locals to confirm their immunity, explaining how blood tests and vaccination can protect against this highly contagious but largely preventable disease.

Former Chesco Official Gets Up To 35 Years In Prison For Child Sex Abuse: DA (patch.com) — West Chester readers are learning that a former New Garden Township supervisor from Avondale has been sentenced to 17.5 to 35 years in prison for repeated child sexual abuse, following his January conviction on multiple charges. Chester County's district attorney highlighted the victim's courage and urged residents to report suspected child abuse, sharing key hotline information for anyone who believes a child may be in danger.
   

4. Mark Your Calendars for Lights Up! Holiday Weekends in West Chester and the 2026 Christmas Parade (wmmr.com) — Downtown West Chester will again light up for Lights Up! Holiday Weekends from November 27, 2026, through January 3, 2027, with 80,000 lights, shopping, dining, and free Santa photos by the 28-foot tree. Residents can also plan ahead for the West Chester Christmas Parade and tree lighting on Friday, December 4, featuring new floats, performances, and tributes to America250.
   

5. Kesher Israel Hires New Director of Education (jewishexponent.com) — West Chester's Kesher Israel Congregation is starting the religious school year with more than 100 students and a new education director, Rabbi Cantor Devorah Frick. Drawing on her Air Force service, musical training, and experience as a congregational rabbi, she plans to deepen youth engagement, expand music in services with Rabbi Sam Yolen, and support local families through long-term programming.
