Williamsport Area School Board approves tax increase (sungazette.com) — Property owners in the Williamsport Area School District will see a real estate tax increase to 18.01 mills, adding about $86 per $100,000 of assessed value for 2026-27. Officials also detailed homestead and farmstead exclusions funded by state gambling revenue and moved several tax-delinquent properties back onto the active tax rolls.

Officials pointed residents to the county planning commission’s monthly Williamsport meetings and stressed that municipalities can’t ban data centers outright but can impose reasonable restrictions through ordinances.
