Rodent droppings abound during Berks food safety inspections (readingeagle.com) — Several Wyomissing eateries and retailers, including Arby’s, Dunkin’, Wawa, Mission BBQ, Walmart and others, were recently cited for mostly minor food safety issues like floor debris, blocked sinks, and expired products. All remain open, but these state inspection reports highlight where cleaning, storage, and temperature controls still need attention across Berks County.

2. Medical Emergency, Child Abuse Report Among Wyomissing Calls (mychesco.com) — Wyomissing police handled a busy Tuesday of calls, from a reported cardiac arrest and child abuse complaint to several minor crashes, alarms, and traffic stops around key borough roads. Officers also focused heavily on traffic enforcement along Route 422, Reading Boulevard, and nearby streets, issuing multiple citations and warnings while assisting fire crews and EMS on several emergency calls.

3. Reading Theater Project Will Present World Premiere of BANSHEE in Berks County (broadwayworld.com) — A new play by Wyomissing playwright Adam Richter is getting its first full production just down the road at Reading’s WCR Center for the Arts from May 1–10. The Irish folklore-inspired drama “Banshee” features original music, dance, and post-show talkbacks, with Pay What You Will ticket pricing to keep it accessible for Berks County theatergoers.

Berks roundup: Softball, girls lacrosse results for April 15 (centredaily.com) — Wyomissing girls lacrosse picked up a strong non-league win over Penn Manor, led by Mackenzie Maggs’ five-goal performance and three more from Kacey Maggs. The broader roundup also highlights key Berks County softball matchups, standings implications, and standout pitching and hitting performances from neighboring school districts.
