Coastal Flooding Through Monday Evening: Rhode Island Weather

The risk of coastal flooding remains in effect in Rhode Island through Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service warned of up to a half-foot of "inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways" and "water on low lying roads and property."

"Do not drive through flooded roadways," the National Weather Service warned.

A general flood watch remains in effect through late Monday night for the Ocean State.

"Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks," the National Weather Service advised.

After rain Monday and Monday night, Tuesday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high of 66 degrees.
