📰 News we're reading

• Upcoming Registration Deadline for November 3 General Election (newportthisweek.com) — Barrington voters have until Sunday, October 4, to register for the November 3 statewide general election, with in-person registration forms accepted at the Barrington Police Station from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The notice also explains online registration, mail ballot deadlines, and similar drop-off options across Rhode Island communities.

• Welcome to Willett: Roundabouts, rotaries, and rights-of-way (eastbayri.com) — Drivers near the Barrington–Riverside line should adjust to new right-of-way rules at the Willett Avenue roundabouts, where RIDOT has shifted yield signs so cars already in the circle now have priority. The state also slimmed Willett Avenue to one lane each way with new bike lanes, aiming to slow traffic and reduce crashes, though officials admit there's a learning curve for longtime local motorists.
