Bristol Porchfest Rescheduled for September 27 (upriseri.com) — If you were planning on Bristol Porchfest last Sunday, mark your calendar for its new date: Sunday, Sept. 27, along High and Walley streets. The free event will feature local bands on neighborhood porches, a 6 p.m. parade, and an afterparty with food, drinks, and live music at Unity Park on Wood Street.
   

2. The Thompsons at the Coffeehouse (eastbayri.com) — Bristol residents can catch folk duo Chris and Meredith Thompson this Saturday at the Stone Church Coffeehouse in the First Congregational Church on High Street. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show, with limited seating, light refreshments for sale, and $25 tickets available by phone reservation.
   

3. Bank of America Free Family Fun Day: Whales (providenceonline.com) — Bristol families can enjoy a free Bank of America Family Fun Day at the Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids can try whale-feeding activities, explore a life-sized whale model, visit the touch tank, and join stories and crafts—all without registration or admission fees.
   

4. Blithewold Arboretum earns recognition for 30 champion trees in Rhode Island (pbn.com) — Bristol's Blithewold Manor, Gardens & Arboretum has just been honored for hosting 30 champion trees, including 21 first-place Rhode Island State Champions. The recognition, arriving as Blithewold marks 100 years as an arboretum, underscores the diversity of its collection and supports future educational programs for visitors exploring the 33-acre waterfront estate.
   

5. Catch your first false albacore (Albie) (eastbayri.com) — Anglers are finding bonito and false albacore right in Narragansett Bay, including off Colt State Park and between Poppasquash Point in Bristol and Warwick Neck. The column also shares tips on choosing a boat and reports on strong bites for tuna, fluke, black sea bass, tautog, and freshwater bass across Rhode Island waters.
