Cranston Man Caught With Stolen Car: Cops

The Cranston man was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police Auto Theft Task Force and the ACI Investigations Unit, police said.

CRANSTON, RI — A Cranston man was caught with a stolen car, police said.

Emery Lema, 44, was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a motor vehicle with an altered identification number, forgery and making a false statement to obtain a registration, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Lema was arrested Thursday by the state police Auto Theft Task Force and Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit, according to the release.

"Mr. Lema was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and turned over to officials in Third Division District Court for arraignment," the release said.
