Silver Alert issued for missing Cranston man (wpri.com) — Cranston police are asking for help finding 79-year-old resident Arcadio Padilla, who walked away from his home on foot and may be endangered due to health issues. He was last seen in the city wearing a blue shirt and tan shorts. Anyone who spots him or has information is urged to call Cranston police at 401-942-2211 immediately.
   

2. New mall owners in 'initial talks' with Costco for Providence Place mall (newportri.com) — Rhode Island's long-running quest for a Costco now centers on early talks to bring the retailer to Providence Place mall, after two failed attempts in Cranston. The story revisits how Cranston residents and officials blocked a Mulligan's Island proposal and how a later prison-site plan fizzled. Local leaders in other cities are also vying to land the store.

Cranston residents should know the city previously joined a regional Flock pilot, meaning local plate data can be shared across agencies as lawmakers weigh new statewide rules.
