Providence Man Charged With Taking Cocaine To Or From ACI: Cops (patch.com) — Cranston readers are learning that a Providence man has been charged in connection with allegedly bringing cocaine to or from the Adult Correctional Institutions located in the city. State police say their Special Investigations Unit led the probe, and the 48-year-old suspect was arraigned, given a $10,000 personal recognizance bond, and held as a superior court violator.

2. 2 injured in rollover crash near Cranston-Johnston line (coastalabc.com) — Traffic on Plainfield Pike in Cranston was disrupted Thursday after a dump truck with an apparent mechanical problem veered into oncoming traffic and collided with an HVAC tow truck near the Cranston–Johnston line. Both drivers were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries, and Cranston police say their preliminary investigation points to mechanical failure as the cause.
