A Melrose Street native, Dumas has returned to live in her family home, stays active at Swift Community Center, and was grand marshal of the 2022 Veterans Day Parade, embodying the town's sense of service and community.

• See the 54 RI students named National Merit semifinalists − and their schools (providencejournal.com) — Several East Greenwich High School seniors have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, putting local students in the running for prestigious awards and college money. They're among 54 Rhode Island semifinalists and over 16,000 nationwide who advanced based on top PSAT scores and now must complete detailed applications, essays, and confirmatory SAT or ACT scores to compete for scholarships next spring.
