James Durkin's Dump of a Hotel Being Condoned By the TC5 and the Building Inspector Fails To Take Action

If you have not seen this video of Mr. James Durkin's so called hotel at 87 Narragansett Ave, it will be worth watching. The video has over 6600 views. Mr. James Durkin is President Pro Tem of the Narragansett Town Council. I was contacted by 2 of the 27 to 30 cultural exchange students that lived in this property. It appears to me and others there were many gross issues of neglect. It appears to me and other there were makeshift bedrooms, mold, peeling paint, plumbing issues, and violations with respect to the number of people living in the makeshift bedrooms. Mr. Jame Durkin who is part of the TC5 have removed Dr. Mark Brady and Mr. Jerome Brunetto from the Narragansett Planning Committee, so they can push through their agenda to sell out the Town of Narragansett to investors. They also want to do away with long standing zoning ordinances to preserve the infrastructure of Narragansett, encourage families to come to Narragansett, preserve the functionality of our sewer system that is already over burdened, and we have recently experienced extended water restrictions. INSTEAD of the Narragansett Town Council stating they will enforce a moratorium on building they are promoting allowing bigger houses be built on any give lot, and to do away with the bulk zoning ordinance. A formal complaint has been filed against 87 Narragansett Ave, but the Narragansett Building Inspector and the Town Council are ignoring the complaint. We presently have no regulations on rentals. We have no one checking rentals to see how many people renting in any given rental. Therefore, while our sewer system smelled like crap in all the area neighborhoods due to it working over capacity due to no regulation on our rentals, the Narragansett Town Council is promoting easing all restrictions including unmerging previously merged lots, and allowing people to build on or near wetlands. Let us NOT forget, Mr. James Durkin has FAILED to recuse himself on issues related to rentals and zoning even though he has a vested interest in rentals. No one should be subjected to the conditions of Mr. James Durkin's so-called hotel located at 87 Narragansett Ave. Please NOTE: When I reached out to the management of Stop and Shop, they told me they were aware of the bad conditions at Durkin's so called Hotel, and when they reached out to him, he failed to take action. A worker from Stop and Shop told me he had to go in as part of the work crew to clean up the hotel as it was in such a filthy situation. The management of Stop and Shop told me they were mad at Durkin for failing to take corrective action.
