📰 News we're reading
• 'Squidpocalypse of '26': Truckload of squid spills in rollover crash, creating smelly mess (fox8.com) — A tractor-trailer hauling squid overturned in Narragansett, dumping a huge load of calamari onto the road and forcing an intersection to stay closed for nearly eight hours. Police and heavy equipment crews spent much of the warm Sunday clearing the foul-smelling mess, while residents joked about the so-called "Squidpocalypse of '26" and investigators reviewed what went wrong.

• Why do fossilized shark teeth keep washing up on a Narragansett beach? (providencejournal.com) — Fossilized great white shark teeth keep turning up on Narragansett Town Beach, and local shark researchers are asking beachgoers to report any new finds. At least seven ancient teeth have been discovered along the same stretch of sand, sparking questions about erosion, offshore projects, and unseen fossil beds offshore. Signs at the beach explain how residents can help the Atlantic Shark Institute study this unusual Narragansett phenomenon.
