• Haunted by questions about his mother's death, RI man sues Narragansett police (providencejournal.com) — A Westerly man is suing the Narragansett Police Department to obtain records about his mother's 2021 death at their Central Street home, which was ruled a suicide. Backed by the New England First Amendment Coalition, he argues the department violated Rhode Island's public records law by withholding investigative files and wants a court to order their release and impose fines.
   

• Narragansett Residents Oppose Boston Neck Road Housing Idea (upriseri.com) — Narragansett residents packed Monday's Town Council meeting to protest early-stage affordable housing concepts for town-owned land at Boston Neck Road and Old Boston Neck Road, pressing for transparency on wetlands and infrastructure. Councilors also advanced zoning tweaks, a possible renaming of the Scarborough wastewater plant, a Boon Street zoning hearing date, and permits for a fall road race and new Boon Street coffee shop.
   

• Florida man's 12,000-mile walk brings message of hope to Rhode Island (newenglandnewspress.com) — A cross-country mental health awareness walk came right through Narragansett this week, as Florida resident Kyndal Ray Edwards trekked from Narragansett to Warwick sharing his "You matter" message. After overcoming his own struggles with suicide attempts, addiction, and incarceration, he's nearing the end of a 12,000‑mile journey that's built a large online community focused on hope and kindness.
