Newport Classical opens its chamber season Sept. 18 with a quartet that plays banjos and mandolins too (whatsupnewp.com) — Newport Classical is launching its sixth full-season Chamber Series on Friday, Sept. 18 at its Dearborn Street recital hall, with Austin-based quartet Invoke opening a 12-concert lineup. Through June, nationally recognized ensembles and soloists will perform Friday evenings, while visiting musicians also bring free enrichment programs to Newport-area public schools.

The report raises broader transparency and privacy concerns as more than 18 municipalities, including Newport, navigate inconsistent rules while the state considers uniform standards.
