• After initially refusing, Rhode Island lawmaker living in SC resigns (scdailygazette.com) — North Kingstown's state House District 31 is now vacant after Rep. Julie Casimiro resigned following questions about her move to South Carolina and residency requirements. Her departure comes just before the next election, so no special election will be held, and three Democrats are already vying in the Sept. 9 primary to represent North Kingstown and Exeter.
