Providence Man Charged With Leaving Scene Of Crash: Cops (patch.com) — Police say a 29-year-old Providence resident has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash after an alleged hit-and-run on Route 10 in Providence just after midnight. Troopers tracked the suspect to his Amory Street home, processed him at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, and released him pending a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment.

CT Man Arrested On Receiving Stolen Goods Charge In Providence: Cops (patch.com) — State police report that a 59-year-old Connecticut man was stopped on Route 10 in Providence and arrested on a charge of receiving stolen goods. He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future court date.

Providence Man Wanted On Shoplifting Charges Nabbed: Cops (patch.com) — Providence readers should know that state police arrested 35-year-old Enoc Lopez Sanchez, a Providence resident wanted on shoplifting charges, during a traffic stop on Union Avenue early Friday morning. After being processed at state police headquarters, he was turned over to Cranston police, who had issued the original warrant.

Our Lady of Providence Seminary sees largest class in more than 40 years (thericatholic.com) — Providence residents may notice renewed energy at Our Lady of Providence Seminary, which has welcomed its largest incoming class in more than 40 years, with 31 men now in formation. Leaders say the growth reflects both God's providence and rigorous screening of candidates from nine dioceses. The seminary's expansion is supported in part by the successful Catholic Charity Appeal.

Providence School Finance Panel Advances Final Budget (upriseri.com) — Providence's school finance committee has advanced a 2026–27 final local budget that adds $4.8 million in net new spending, including four special education classrooms and staffing shifts at several schools. The plan reflects higher state and city aid, a $2 million charter tuition increase, and changes in transportation and utilities costs, and now heads to the full School Board next Wednesday.
